About the LSSRA Video Podcast
The LSSRA Video Podcast is a monthly production created to benefit the referees of LSSRA, but is available to anybody. The podcast can also be subscribed to via iTunes or downloaded directly from this site. If you have comments about prior podcasts, corrections to submit, or suggestions for future topics and video clips, please use the contact page and submit your comments to the webmaster. We appreciate your interest in this content!
Please note that with USSF's update to its content, the Week in Review is no longer an iTunes subscribable podcast. But I personally prefer to be able to download the podcast via iTunes subscription and find this update annoying, so I have been capturing the MP3 files and now am posting them on the LSSRA site. I have also created an XML read-file for iTunes that will let you subscribe again. The Week in Review index can be found here.
November 2009: AR Involvement
Released Nov 30, 2009The video podcast returns! A look at when the AR should and should not interfere during a match.
August/September 2009: Basic Assistant Refereemanship
Released Aug 15, 2009This month's podcast is actually part of a major LSSRA project in the works for about a year. This month we take a step back and look at some very basic material, and yet it's material everybody should know inside and out and review. Many assistant referees have small flaws in their mechanics, so this month is a comprehensive review of basic AR mechanics that focuses on youth footage exclusively.
Due to the wide audience that this podcast is aimed at, in addition to the traditional video podcast, this podcast is also being released in two other formats. The first is an audio-only MP3 file (also downloadable via iTunes). The second is an online series of Flash videos that will allow users to view this podcast in its entirety directly through the website. My hope is that this material will be of value to far more than just LSSRA members and Duluth referees... think of it as a video/audio version of the AR material from USSF's Guide to Procedures. Enjoy!
